More at Four Pre-Kindergarten Program
The More at Four Pre-Kindergarten Program (http://www.osr.nc.gov/) is a state-funded community based, voluntary pre-kindergarten initiative designed to prepare at-risk 4 year olds in North Carolina for success in school. Cabarrus Partnership for Children is Program, Fiscal and contract Administrator for this program in collaboration with Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis City Schools. All More at Four classrooms provide high quality standards using Creative Curriculum which focuses on preparing children in developmentally appropriate ways to be successful students.
Emphasis is placed on literacy, numbers, fine and gross motor development and problem solving. Numerous studies have shown that students in high quality pre-kindergarten are more likely to succeed in grades K-12.

What are the benefits of More at Four?
- Each More at Four class is limited to 18 children.
- The lead teacher is required to have a four year college degree and state licensure in birth-kindergarten classes.

- The program lasts 6 to 6.5 hours a day and follows the public school calendar.
- There is no charge for the More at Four program. However, if before- or after-school care is needed, families are responsible for the additional cost. Families may be eligible for subsidized child care.
